A peek into my "other" life

Some of you may not know that in addition to being a musician, I'm also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and director of Wasatch Family Therapy clinic. While they may seem like separate "careers" you can easily see the overlap in the intregal themes in my songwriting: relationships, emotional well-being, and self-exploration...make sense

Though most of my TV appearances have been musical performances, throughout the last 2 years I focused on finding ways to use the media to teach relationship skills and emotional health. After a short hosting stint on KJZZ's "Home Team", I began contributing segments on KSL's morning show "Studio 5". Here are several topics covered this year. If any catch your eye click through to watch video & read web article.

KSL TV Segments:
Understanding Your Emotional Style
Toss Your To-Do List!
How To Be An Involved Grandparent
That's What I Like About Me: Accepting Your Strengths
Find Inspiration In A Female Mentor
Do Your Emotional Family History
What Will I Do When My Child Disappoints Me?

Here are some other related media print, TV, online articles:

Co-writing

Most of my co-writing experiences have been me taking my songs to someone else to help me refine them, but last Sat. I had the chance to co-write with a amazingly talented artist helping him refine his original songs. I wasn't sure how it would go. Four hours flew by and I was blown away by his fresh style, amazing voice & piano skills, and his humor. Can't wait to introduce you to his music (his tentative album release is next Spring). In the process I realized that I actually had learned a few things about the songwriting process over the past 25 years.

Watch my one and only music video "Make Enough of Me" online. My friend Butch Adams (photographer/videographer/editor) and I shot this one day a few of years ago. Enjoy!
